Get involved
Have you just arrived in Nanaimo or would you simply like to get involved in the French-speaking community? We offer several ways to participate in local French-speaking life!
Become a member
Becoming a member means supporting the French-speaking community in all its diversity: culture, hospitality, events, youth, seniors, and volunteerism.
Why do I belong to the AFN and not the CFA?
The Francophone Welcoming Community (CFA) is a project led by the AFN. By becoming a member of the AFN, you are also supporting the CFA's initiatives and helping to strengthen the services offered to Francophones and Francophiles in the region.
Subscribe to the newsletter
Stay up to date with what's happening in Nanaimo in French. Our monthly newsletter keeps you informed about events, activities, and opportunities to meet people in the region.
Become a volunteer
Volunteering is a great way to meet people, practice French, and feel at home in Nanaimo.
With the AFN or as part of the CFA, you can:
- help organize the Maple Sugar Festival in February,
- offer your skills to help with our projects,
- contribute to the life of the AFN premises by helping with reception or organizing activities.
